The plasticity of the
PTFE tape increases with the increase of temperature, while the mechanical properties deteriorate sharply. When the load is higher than 3MPa, the residual deformation occurs; when the load is about 20MPa, the PTFE tape will be crushed; when the operating temperature is over 400℃, the PTFE tape will start to decompose and give rise to a highly reactive poisonous gaseous fluoride. The low temperature performance of the PTFE tape is good and the flexibility can be maintained when the temperature is lower than -80 degrees centigrade
