PTFE Tape Introduction In Brife

PTFE Tape Introduction In Brife

PTFE tape (also known as Thread seal tape or plumber's tape) is a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) film for use in sealing pipe threads.  The tape is sold cut to specific widths and wound on a spool, making it easy to wind around pipe threads.

Thread seal tape lubricates allowing for a deeper seating of the threads, and it helps prevent the threads from seizing when being unscrewed. The tape also works as a deformable filler and thread lubricant, helping to seal the joint without hardening or making it more difficult to tighten, and instead making it easier to tighten.

PTFE tape is a novel ideal sealing material. Because of its non-toxic, odorless, excellent sealing, insulation, corrosion resistance, is widely used in water treatment industry, natural gas area, chemicals field, plastics, electronics engineering and other fields.

PTFE tape adopts advanced production technology machine, good quality, complete specifications, to meet different customer requirements of different industries.

Product has extremely excellent insulation, strong
chemical stability and good sealing performance, it is widely used in mechanical, chemical, metallurgy, electric power, shipbuilding, aerospace, medicine, electronics and other industrial fields.

How to calculate the density of PTFE tapes?

How to calculate the density of PTFE tapes?  teflon tape

In normal, people always asks one question, what’s the relationship of density, thickness and weight of PTFE tapes?

There is a formula can use: Density = weight/length ×width ×thickness. For example, the specification of tape is Length 20m, Thickness 0.1mm, Width 12mm, and weight is 6g, which is very normal tape.
So the density =6g/1.2cm×0.01cm×2000cm = 0.25g/cm3.

The above information is easy to understand and tell peoples how to calculate density.

Mixing PTFE raw material with oil in mixing mahine for one hour first ----- Baking mixed PTFE material for six hours to ten hours in heating oven machine ----- Pressing raw material into round shape then pressing into rope shape through the extrusion mould die -----  Rope shape material in bulk which is keeping temperature at 50 degree -----  Calender machine is making rode shape into fixed film (width and thickness is adjustable ) ----- Big PTFE film into slitter machine for taking out the oil first, then teflon film will be strenched as required ratio in high temperature status, as well as finished fixed shape at the same time ----- Blade cutting teflon film into required width----- rewinding  teflon tapes into small roller ----- Packing
